Michael Vaughan reached out to his sentimental side on Sunday morning as he shared this photo of him handing an 11-year-old Joe Root an award as the best cricketer of his age group back in the day. Vaughan, now working in the media and regularly expressing his opinions on the England cricket team, has not always seen eye to eye with Root since, but has undoubtedly provided something of a constant in the career of the Test skipper. Both originating from Yorkshire, Vaughan has been at Root’s side for the best part of 25 years, and seen him grow from an enthusiastic kid into one of his country’s greatest ever batsmen.
