At 27 years old, Tom Abell has long been an England hope amongst the Taunton faithful. The Somerset batter has for some time performed admirably in first-class and List A cricket, and does not lack the maturity required for the international stage having first captained his county at just 23 in 2017. He continued to display his credentials with a wonderful 78 not out off 45 balls in the T20 Blast quarter-final against Lancashire on Thursday. Abell’s knock took the home side over the line, chasing down the Lancs target of 185 with seven wickets to spare.
