With Jimmy Anderson at the crease and England’s lead stretching beyond 350, Ollie Robinson decided it was time to tee off on the third morning of the Headingley Test, looking to wear down India’s bowlers and plunder as many runs as possible. His attempts to do so, however, were in vain as Jaspirt Bumrah bowled a fuller delivery that clattered into off stump. It left England 432 all out, with an enormous first-innings lead of 354. Some were questioning the tactics of sending Anderson out to bat instead of declaring, but it was clear England wanted to punish India as much as possible through time spent in the field.
