George Garton took a stunning catch at the most vital of times to dismiss Miles Hammond for 3 in the men’s Hundred final on Saturday night. The game at the time was still somewhat in the balance, with the Birmingham Phoenix requiring 86 off 47 deliveries with seven wickets remaining. Garton’s catch, however, turned the tide resoundingly in the Southern Brave’s favour. The Sussex man’s bowling has been a key factor for the Brave’s victorious first Hundred season and seen him become one of the competition’s break-out stars, but he was also highly rated before the tournament for his excellent fielding, put vividly on display here.
