Eoin Morgan has expressed his excitement ahead of the T20 World Cup in October via an interview with the ICC. Morgan mentioned that T20 has become increasingly important in the modern game, a format that can change so quickly and subsequently requires immense adaptability. That has been key in England’s recent rise to the top of the white ball game, a surge Morgan credits to their consistency over the past four years. The skipper has taken his respective ODI and T20 teams to number two and number one in the world as of today, and will be desperate to add the shortest form’s most prestigious title to their 2019 50-over triumph.
“It’s huge. It’s been a long time coming. We haven’t had one since 2016.”
