England lost their talisman Joe Root in the first over after tea to see their hopes of saving the second Test all but wiped out. They could have asked little more of Root, who has been relied upon throughout a landmark year for the skipper, and at 67/5 England now look to have completely spurned a promising position at the start of the day. India have been superb with the ball, particularly Jasprit Bumrah, who as well as reeling in the big fish saw the back of Rory Burns in his first over.
