There were remarkable scenes in the women’s Arachas Super 20 Trophy in Ireland on Sunday as the Scorchers fell to 19 all out from 9.5 overs in their match with the Typhoons. The hosts had put on just 78 in their opening innings, a seemingly modest total, but the Scorchers made such a notion laughable as they were skittled for next to nothing in their reply. We’ve all been involved in our fair share of collapses, but few will have experienced embarassment on this sort of scale before.
