Mark Wood rewarded the excellent planning of England and Joe Root as he took his second wicket of the day, the incredibly dangerous Rohit Sharma, after an enthralling battle. Wood had previously seen one of his short-pitched deliveries slapped over the ropes for six by Sharma, but England remained convinced that one would eventually be lapped to the expectant Moeen Ali at deep-backwards square leg. And so it was, with Moeen taking a wonderful catch to see the back of a sheepish Rohit, ensnared in a not-so discrete England trap.
