(Video) Oval Invincibles declare London neon-green

The Oval Invincibles dominated their Saturday at home as both the men and the women’s side beat the London Spirit. The men’s derby was a nailbiting one, with the Invincibles helped over the line with a six from the impressive Laurie Evans, who ended with 67 not out from 37 balls. The Spirit had put on 146-7 from their 100 balls, and came back well in the latter stages with the ball, but the home side eventually chased it down with five balls and two wickets to spare.

Earlier in the day, the women’s teams competed in a lower-scoring affair, with the Spirit also batting first and putting on a modest 103 from their 100 balls thanks to some brilliant bowling from Marizanne Kapp and Alice Capsey among others. The Invincibles comfortably chased it down with eight wickets in hand and thirteen deliveries remaining.
