Mohammed Shami served the mantle of a breakthrough provider as Rory Burns trudged towards the pavilion on the verge of a half-century. The left-hander was beaten on the flick and reviewed the on-field call immediately, but replays confirmed there was no wood and the cherry would have gone on to smash the top of middle. Given the ball had struck Burns above the knee roll, it was a terrific call by umpire Richard Illingworth to adjudge it out in the first place.
BURNS FALLS! ☝
The England opener didn’t seem too concerned as he reviewed but DRS confirms the lbw decision, Shami gets Burns for 49.
