Adil Rashid, England’s most skilful of leg-spinners, demonstrated his ability in the field for the Northern Superchargers in the Hundred on Thursday night. With the ball flicked around the corner, Tom Hartley set off for a tentative single, only to see the red-flashing bails launched skywards as Rashid threw down the stumps.
The Superchargers had put on 200, a historic first innings, restricting the demoralised Manchester Originals to 131 all out off 99 balls. Rashid’s brilliance won him the ‘Play of the Day’ award, quite the achievement given the incredible shotmaking of John Simpson, who struck 71 off 28 deliveries.
Let’s just take a moment to appreciate Adil Rashid’s fielding skills 😱
