Pithoragarh Hurricanes clinched a thrilling 4-wicket win against Tehri Titans in the second men’s fixture of the Uttarakhand Premier League 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun. Batting first, Tehri Titans posted a formidable total of 184/8 in their 20 overs, driven by Ayush’s explosive 46 off just 19 balls (5 sixes, 2 fours) and quickfire contributions from Aryan Sharma (37* off 15) and Sagar Ojha (28). Satyam Baaliyan stood out among the Pithoragarh bowlers with a tight spell of 3/23 in 4 overs.

Chasing 185, Pithoragarh got off to a disastrous start, losing three top-order batters for just 29 runs. Vipin Kasana resurrected the chase with a fiery 50 off 26 balls (6 fours, 3 sixes), while skipper Vikas Bhati held one end with an anchoring knock of 43 off 45 balls. However, a flurry of middle-order wickets left Pithoragarh reeling at 129/6, placing the team under immense pressure.

Enter Mayank Mishra, who turned the game completely on its head. Striking at an astonishing 233.3, the all-rounder smashed a blistering 42* off just 18 balls, laced with 4 sixes and 3 fours, guiding Pithoragarh Hurricanes home (188/6) with 2 balls to spare.

Reflecting on his match-winning effort in a crunch situation, Mayank shared, “The only thing on my mind when I walked in was that my skipper, Vikas Bhati, was struggling with a tennis elbow injury and couldn’t swing freely. With no recognized batters left after us, I knew I had to take full responsibility. I told Bhati that it is on my bat now, just give me a single and I’ll handle it. Once I started finding the boundaries, the momentum shifted entirely, putting their bowlers under serious heat.”

Mishra was equally impressive with the ball, delivering a miserly spell of 0/18 in his 4 overs to keep the Titans in check. Commenting on his bowling, he added, “I am really pleased with how I bowled. Even though I didn’t get a wicket, containing runs and giving away just 18 in a high-scoring game was crucial. Creating that pressure was my main focus, and I’m glad I could contribute to the team’s win in both departments.”
