(Video) Simon Harmer ties Royal London Cup game in extraordinary fashion

As 200 was brought up for the first time in the glamorous new Hundred competition on Thursday night, the Royal London One Day Cup produced some fireworks of its own as Essex’s clash with Lancashire ended in a tie. The finish was nothing short of thrilling.

Lancashire had posted 250-6 from their 50 overs, and by the final over Essex looked to be coming up short despite a wonderful hundred from Sir Alastair Cook. Enter Simon Harmer, who took 20 from the final four deliveries, including three consecutive sixes, to draw his county level. The result saw Lancs crash out of the competition, failing to achieve the win that would have seen them through to the quarter finals ahead of Gloucestershire.
