Namibia will gear up to host South Africa and Zimbabwe for a T20I tri-series followed by a three-match ODI series against South Africa. All matches are scheduled to be played at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek. The T20I tri-series starts on August 28, with the final slotted for September 6, and the ODI series kicks off on September 9.
The tri-series is primed to lay the groundwork for the launch of the Africa Cup in 2027, a competition expected to provide more African countries with opportunities to prove their mettle at the highest level. Further, all profits generated from the tri-series will be donated to the Africa Cricket Association in order to support the growth of the game across the continent.
“We are immensely grateful to Cricket South Africa and Zimbabwe Cricket for their commitment to this series, which reflects the strong partnership and shared vision to grow cricket across the African continent,” said Cricket Namibia CEO Johan Muller.
