Harmanpreet Kaur to the rescue after India wobble in decider

England chipped away with regular wickets in Taunton but India, led by their captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, managed enough contributions to put up a competitive score on the board. England, that last-ball aberration from Sophie Ecclestone aside, were good in the field and this is a pretty fast-scoring ground. Ultimately, they will require their joint-second highest chase in T20Is to take the three-match series.

England won the toss and sent India in to bat first in the third and deciding T20I, both teams’ final competitive hit-out ahead of the T20 World Cup starting in less than a fortnight.

England went in unchanged after winning on Saturday by 26 runs in Bristol to level the series.

India, meanwhile, made one change, opting for the right-arm pace of Kranti Gaud after she bagged two wickets in their 38-run victory at Chelmsford first up with off-spinner Shreyanka Patil making way.

Play began in cloudy yet bright conditions with no forecast for rain and a strong westerly breeze blowing across the ground.
