Live commentary and updates from the women’s T20 Blast finals day at The Oval. Birmingham Bears take on The Blaze in the eliminator, with the winner facing Surrey later today in the final.
Kira Chathli flicks a full toss to the square leg boundary to seal victory for Surrey and put their name in the history books as the inaugural champions of the women’s T20 Blast.
Grace Harris finished 63* as her side won by five wickets with 20 balls remaining.
Grace Harris nudges the first ball of the 15th over to long-on to bring up her half-century. A vital knock in helping her side edge closer to the title.
It took her just 25 balls and included six fours and one huge six.
After finding the rope with ease, Surrey move closer and closer to victory, but could there be a twist? Arlott digs one in short and Paige Scholfield picked out Pavely in the deep.

Continual wickets have pegged Surrey back all innings. This time, Sophia Dunkley is stumped by Nat Wraith, standing up to the seamer.
It leaves Surrey 80-4 at the halfway stage – identical to where the Bears were at the same time!
Surrey take 14 runs off Millie Taylor’s first over and then 13 off Baker, including an imperious six down the ground from Dunkley.
Hannah Baker strikes with her second ball. Capsey looks to use her feet but doesn’t get to the pitch of the ball and is stumped for 15.
A great delivery by Baker gets the Bears right back into this game.
Bryony Smith slashes at a wide delivery from Amu Surenkumar on the final delivery of the powerplay, offering a catch to Meg Austin in the covers.
Surrey are behind the rate but with wickets in hand.
Bryony Smith hits consecutive sweeps to the rope before allowing Capsey to follow suit. The pair have five boundaries between them after taking 14 from Georgia Davis’ first over.
Danni Wyatt-Hodge clips one off her pads out to deep square leg, and it is taken by Hannah Baker. The leg spinner runs round to her left and makes the catch look simple.
A few singles and a glorious cover drive by Hannah Baker pushes the visitors up to 153 at the end of their innings.
The captain, Georgia Davis, is run out coming back for a second. Taylor chips a drive back over the bowler’s head and is called through by Davis, only to see her captain head back to the pavillion.
Franklin skips one between Em Arlott’s bat and pad to dismiss the all-rounder for three. She picks up her second of the day, before Dani Gregory gets her first. Harris looks to the leg-side again but can only send a catch to Frankling at deep midwicket.
Birmingham Bears’ hundred comes up off 12.3 overs as Laura Harris launches a huge six into the crowd at square-leg.
She follows this up by edging through third-man for four and then smashing another massive six: this time over midwicket.
Stonehouse’s over goes for 18 as Warwickshire’s total continues to climb.

Wraith put on a decent display for her 23, but it ends with a disappointingly tame dismissal. She chips a half-volley to Bryony Smith at cover.
A superb piece of keeping from Kira Chathli means Amu Surenkumar heads back to the pavilion, stumped for 11. Chathli was up to the stumps for seamer, Phoebe Franklin, and whips the bails of with Surenkumar toppling over.
The Bears find themselves five down, with their hopes of claiming the title resting on the shoulders of Nat Wraith and Laura Harris.
Kalis is run-out coming back for a second that was never on. She pushes it out to deep point and MacDonald-Gay’s throw leaves her diving with desperation.
Surrey are on top at the end of the sixth over, picking up three wickets. Nat Wraith has joined Sterre Kalis with a lot of work needing to be done.
It takes a perfect delivery from Stonehouse to dismiss the sensational Wong. It nips away and clips the top of the leg-stump as Wong looks to work it into the on-side. Georgeous.
Issy Wong smashes a lofted drive over the off-side at the end of the third over, before picking up another seven runs against Ryana MacDonald-Gay to move to 30. She’s already picked up four boundaries inside the opening four overs.
Capsey strikes back, bowling Perrin, who looks to launch one over the leg side.
She concedes 11 off the over but gets a big wicket at the end of the over.
Alice Capsey takes the ball second over and is immediately put under pressure by Issy Wong.
The first ball is slashed to the cover boundary before the next two are smashed down the ground.
Full and wide from Alexa Stonehouse allows Meg Austin to carve the first ball for four through the covers.
But the left-armer swings one back in to castle Austin the following delivery. A fantastic start for Surrey.

A spectacular diving catch from Amu Surenkumar seals victory for Birmingham Bears. They face Surrey in a little over an hour in the first Women’s T20 Blast Final.
Issy Wong starred with 59 from 38 and 4-14 to lead her side to victory, aided by a Sterre Kalis 45 and Millie Taylor 3-fer.
Georgia Elwiss’ 53 came in vain as The Blaze finish third in the inaugural women’s T20 Blast.
