Marnus Labuschagne will return to Glamorgan for a fifth successive season, the county confirmed. The Australian right-hander will be available for two Championship games, which are expected to give him a good workout ahead of the World Test Championship final against South Africa in June.
Labuschagne turned up for four fixtures last year in which he hit two centuries and two fifties. This time, he will represent Glamorgan against Northamptonshire and Middlesex, with those fixtures scheduled to be held at the Sophia Gardens from May 16 and 23 respectively.
He will feature in place of Colin Ingram as one of the overseas players. Last year, Ingram made the most runs in the second division. “It’s great to have Marnus returning to the club again,” Director of Cricket Mark Wallace said.
Guess who’s back, back again 😉

“He’s very much part of the furniture here and we’re looking forward to welcoming back to Wales for a couple of games. Although it’s only for a short period, it will allow Colin to have a break and recharge before the Blast.”
Labuschagne and his wife Rebekah welcomed their second child, Judah, last month as the 30-year-old enjoyed six weeks at home following a hectic international summer and Queensland’s defeat in the Sheffield Shield final.
He’s now back to business, even adapting to English conditions with batting sessions in the rain while training in Brisbane. Labuschagne, whose Test average slipped to 46.76 after nearly touching 60 not too long ago, hasn’t hit a Test hundred in nearly two years and would be keen to revert to type.
