Bangladesh about to get busy as fixtures confirmed with UAE, Pakistan, Sri Lanka

Bangladesh have a packed calendar ahead of them as Asian side is scheduled to play two T20Is against United Arab Emirates before travelling to Pakistan to contest in five T20Is, which will then be followed by a multi-format bilateral series against Sri Lanka.

The matches against UAE will be conducted respectively on May 17 and 19 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. This will be their second bilateral series in the shortest format against UAE in the last three years. In 2022, the two teams locked horns in a two-match series in Dubai, which Bangladesh swept 2-0.

The post went vacant after Najmul Hossain Shanto relinquished the role given the taxing schedule as captain across formats. Litton Das, who led the side successfully in the three-match T20I series in West Indies, will lead the Asian Tigers through the crucial build-up to the marquee event in 2026.

Next up is the Pakistan tour, starting May 25. The Iqbal Cricket Stadium in Faisalabad, which successfully organized the inaugural Champions One-Day Cup and National T20 Cup in recent times, will stage the first and second T20Is. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host the remaining three, with all five games commencing at 7:30pm PST.

Bangladesh are slated to arrive in Sri Lanka on June 13. The assignment kicks off with two Tests and concludes with three T20Is, with three ODIs slotted in between. Sri Lanka have also never lost a Test series to Bangladesh in their history and the tourists will be coming into the series on the back of a tied Test series (1-1) versus Zimbabwe in April.
