Tanzim Hasan Sakib earns maiden call-up for Zimbabwe Tests

Tanzim Hasan Sakib, the 22-year-old pacer, has earned a maiden Test call up for the upcoming home series against Zimbabwe. Tanzim has played 28 games for Bangladesh in the white-ball formats. The Asian side, however, will be without their lead seamer Taskin Ahmed, who misses out due to a left Achilles tendon issue.

Meanwhile, Litton Das is also unavailable for selection as he honors his Pakistan Super League commitments, where he will represent Karachi Kings. Shahadat Hossain, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Murad have been omitted from the last Test squad which toured the West Indies towards the end of 2024.

Mushfiqur Rahim, who recently retired from the ODI format following the Champions Trophy, remains a part of the red-ball setup. The two-Test series kicks off on April 20 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The second Test is set to begin on April 28 in Chattogram.
