So this is it, the ultimate clash between by far the two best teams in the tournament to decide the winner. India vs New Zealand. India will hold the advantage with thorough knowledge of the surface which had translated in the thumping group stage victory. However that was a dead rubber, with the trophy at stake here, there might be a different New Zealand coming out today.
The news from the middle is that India have lost the toss, making it the 14th time that India’s skipper has lost the toss in a row. New Zealand have chosen to bat, with their skipper remarking that he hopes the wicket will slow down later.
Jadeja flicks Jamieson off his pads and the ball flies to the boundary!!!
India win the trophy! What a match this has been. It was hanging in the balance till the end but India have again proved to be the best team. Celebrations in India will take off now.
First ball from Bracewell for Kohli and he is utterly foxed! Goes up for the review but that is clearly hitting the stumps. One brings two for New Zealand!
India 113/2
Glen Phillips, oh my word! What a grab! Tossed up by Santner, Gill goes for a drive on the half volley and Phillips leaps up like a salmon to grab it. That’s the first wicket down.
105/1 India
We are back for the final chase of this tournament! Gill and Rohit to open, Jamieson to start the proceedings.

It was a good performance by the Indian bowlers, especially the spinners. Kuldeep got the major breakthroughs along with Varun. Now it is up to the batters. It remains to be seen how much grip the Kiwi spinners will get off the surface.
Santner’s search for a double doesn’t succeed as Kohli’s throw ensures that he is run out.
New Zealand are 239/7
Mitchell’s change in approach doesn’t last long as he is dismissed by Shami, caught by Rohit. A very slow innings from him today, which he will look back on thinking he could have accelerated a bit earlier.
New Zealand are 211/6
Mitchell pushes to long off for a single and that brings him his 50. A very placid innings, with the half a ton coming of 91 balls. It was probably needed at this stage but he will need to accelerate.
Varun breaks through! Castles Phillips and that is the end of a great partnership between him and Mitchell. They have really got New Zealand out of a hole.
New Zealand are 165/5
Jadeja joins the party! After strangling the Kiwis for runs, India have picked up the 4th wicket as Latham falls prey to LBW.
108/5 New Zealand.
Kuldeep again! He gets Williamson this time. Such a soft and uncharacteristic dismissal for the veteran. Tossed up and paddled straight to Kuldeep for a caught and bowled. Just like that the Blackcaps have lost three wickets.
75/3 New Zealand.
Ravindra gone! Kuldeep gets the big wicket! Great delivery, completely puzzled Ravindra there. That is Kuldeep’s first wicket in ICC knockout matches. What a time to get it.
New Zealand are 72/2.
10 overs in, the Kiwis definitely have the upper hand as they have raced to 69 runs.
Varun the magician strikes! Bamboozled Young for spin there. Such a happening over this one. A flurry of half chances and finally this one goes India’s way. They have broken through.
New Zealand are 58/1
Ravindra has flown off the blocks early in the innings. 16 runs were scored off the latest Pandya over and a couple boundaries against Shami. He is looking to force the hand here.
