Southern Brave have marched into the grand finale of the inaugural edition of The Hundred Women’s competition as Welsh Fire’s campaign remains only of academic interest. Smriti Mandhana and Danielle Wyatt smoked belting half-centuries, and Fire fell short of an enormous 166 in response despite a trio of 30s from Bryony Smith, Georgia Redmayne and Sophie Luff. Brave’s bowling attack functioned like a well-oiled machine, thwarting Fire to 127 as the 39-run victory propelled them into the summit clash.
