In what is the first international red-ball match in cricket history to be held in Northern Ireland, Ireland and Zimbabwe squared off in Stormont, Belfast. As the match neared its conclusion, the hosts were in a spot of bother at 33-5 in eight overs, chasing a fourth-innings target of 158.
After all of the Irish top five had perished for scores of ten or fewer, Lorcan Tucker and Andy McBrine joined forces to try and help their side stay in the contest before pushing for glory.
The pair scored a further 40 runs in the first nine overs of the day. Richard Ngarava was punched through covers by southpaw McBrine and the ball trickled towards the rope, with Tendai Chatara in hot pursuit. He managed to track it down, and caress the ball back into play. However, momentum took him over the ropes and beyond the advertising boards.
With no other fielder backing up, Chatara ought to get back on the field himself to fire the throw. By the time he could do so, McBrine and Tucker managed to run five runs — without the help of any overthrows.
