Mehidy Hasan Miraz bowls Charith Asalanka with a beauty

It has been a fine effort from Bangladesh to restrict Sri Lanka to 255 on a good batting wicket in Chattogram. The openers added 71 but once that partnership was broken, regular wickets fell till Kusal Mendis and Janith Liyanage joined forces to add 69 for the 5th wicket.

Bangladesh always fought back with wickets, keeping the batters at bay. The openers made 30s while Mendis and Liyanage fell after their half-centuries. The pacers of Bangladesh shared 9 wickets between them and the highlight of the innings was Bangladesh’s remarkable fielding. There were so many diving stops near the boundary line and that alone would have accounted for 20 runs, if not more.

Sri Lanka will be hoping to find some movement under lights for their pacers as they attempt to defend the competitive target they have set in the opening ODI at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The chase will get underway after 25 minutes.
