During the SA20 second Qualifier between Durban Super Giants and Joburg Super Kings, Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq pulled off an exceptional catch. With a jumbo target of 212 ahead of them, Super Kings’ Leus du Plooy opened the chase for his side. Advancing to a good length delivery bowled by Reece Topley in the third over of the run chase, Plooy hit the ball firmly with a semi-horizontal bat towards Naveen, who was manning mid-on.
The speedster sighted the ball perfectly as timed his jump to perfection to pluck the ball mid-air using both his hands. Naveen did not let go of the ball as he fell on the pitch after taking the screamer. Naveen’s fielding genius sent Plooy back to the dressing room having scored 10 runs in seven balls.
