(Video) Katie George’s world class piece of fielding sets a vital standard for women’s Hundred

Katie George produced a moment of magic in the field for the Welsh Fire in their women’s Hundred clash with the Birmingham Phoenix on Monday. With the ball seemingly destined for six, George caught it over the boundary, flinging it back into play before her feet could touch the ground.

George is widely regarded as one of the best fielders in the competition, and indeed in the women’s game, and her brilliance sets an example for the rest. Women’s cricket comes under a great deal of unfair criticism, but the fielding in recent years has not been of a particularly high standard. Moments like this will make convincing its doubters far more simple.
