Rassie van der Dussen perishes to loose drive away from body

Australia continue to chip away at the wickets, leaving South Africa in a hole at 70/4. Rassie van der Dussen’s patience finally runs out as he nicks a wide tempter to second slip off Josh Hazlewood.

The five-time World champions are in the driver’s seat, and South Africa are in search of a desperate partnership having lost Quinton de Kock, Temba Bavuma, van der Dussen and Aiden Markram.

The conditions have been overcast in Kolkata and the weather forecast doesn’t look promising, but it isn’t raining at the moment. Safe to say, tt does look all gloom and doom for South Africa right now. There is a reserve day for the knockout games and the final.

Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc came in for Marcus Stoinis and Sean Abbott for Australia while Tabraiz Shamsi replaces Lungi Ngidi in the Proteas XI as South Africa elected to bat in the second semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2023.
