Dawid Malan fell prey to the nervous nineties in the third ODI against New Zealand even as Ben Stokes registered his fastest century in the ODI format of 76 balls. The stylish southpaw who is batting at the top of the order for England has another chance to breach three figures as he raises a fifty in the fourth ODI at Lord’s.
Sunny blue skies above Lord’s welcomed England and New Zealand in the fourth ODI. Matt Henry and Tim Southee are sharing the new ball and Dawid Malan is up and running with an effortless cover drive. He transferred his weight into the good-length ball from Southee to pierce the gap between backward point and cover point. The hand-eye coordination was the hallmark of the sublime shot. Malan kept up the good work to reach his third consecutive fifty, and sixth overall, as New Zealand search for the second wicket after removing Jonny Bairstow early once again.
