Sunny blue skies above Lord’s welcomed England and New Zealand in the fourth ODI. Matt Henry and Tim Southee are sharing the new ball and Dawid Malan is up and running with an effortless cover drive. He transferred his weight into the good-length ball from Southee to pierce the gap between backward point and cover point. The hand-eye coordination was the hallmark of the sublime shot.
Malan could not complete his fifth ODI hundred, falling four shy of the landmark in the third ODI against New Zealand even as Ben Stokes registered his fastest century in the ODI format of 76 balls.
