Charlie Dean picks up three wickets in an over

Nat Sciver-Brunt hit 120 off just 74 balls in a 31 overs-per-side rain-affected game to deny Sri Lanka an equalizer. The No.1 ranked batter and all-rounder in the ICC Women’s Player Rankings, Sciver was at the top of her game on Thursday as she unfurled some marvelous shots on her way to an exceptional hundred in her 100th ODI.

Although England suffered a poor start in the third and final ODI in Leicester Nat Sciver-Brunt joined forces with Maia Bouchier to usher the hosts to 72/2 in 10 overs. They added 193 runs off just 20 overs and the mammoth partnership was eventually broken when Bouchier was nabbed in front by Kavisha Dilhari. By then, Sciver-Brunt had galloped to her century off 66 balls, making it the quickest ODI ton by an England women.

Earlier, Sri Lanka Women kicked off proceedings on a promising note, getting rid of the dangerous Tammy Beaumont cheaply. They had an opportunity to square the series having conceded the opening ODI and being rescued by rain in the next, but chances of an even scoreline look grim with England having set a tall total of 273/8 in 31 overs. So, it proved.
