Tammy Beaumont kicks on to reach 150 at Trent Bridge

Three wickets have fallen in the afternoon session on Day 3 but England have done well to close in on the deficit. The hosts trail by only 45 runs now. A wild shot from Sophia Dunkley led her to downfall as Ashleigh Gardner knocked her over. Danny Wyatt walked in and played some eye-catching shots while Tammy Beaumont continued to be solid like a rock, going into Tea at 195*, the highest score from an England Women player in the history of international cricket.

A maiden Test fifty was up for graps for Wyatt but she threw her wicket away to Darcie Brown, nicking to the slip cordon. One brought two as Amy Jones fell cheaply, suffering a soft dismissal. On the other hand, tantalizingly close to a double ton, Beaumont is on the cusp of history.

The one-off Ashes Test at Trent Bridge is in the balance at the moment. England are 428/6 in response to Australia’s 473.
