Chennai Super Kings talisman MS Dhoni pulled off a razor-sharp stumping to dismiss in-form batter Shubman Gill during the Indian Premier League 2023 final against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Ravindra Jadeja extracted a hint of purchase from the deck to defeat Gill’s drive as the opener lost his balance for a fraction of a second. The tiny window was more than enough for Dhoni who whipped the bails off in a flash before Gill could return to the crease. He was dismissed after scoring 39 off 20 balls, having been dropped by Deepak Chahar at the start of his innings.
Chennai Super Kings drew level with Mumbai Indians at five IPL trophies by registering a thrilling win against Gujarat Titans in a game befitting a summit clash. With 10 needed off the last two deliveries, Ravindra Jadeja donked a six down the ground and a four to fine leg off Mohit Sharma’s wayward full toss to seal the deal in emphatic fashion.
