Gujarat Titans end PowerPlay at 50 for no loss

Gujarat Titans teed off in the last two overs of the PowerPlay to take the score to exactly 50 after six overs. Shubman Gill could have been dismissed in that final over of the powerplay had Tim David held on to a tough chance. He did dive at mid on but failed to grasp the ball. This is a good platform for Gujarat Titans, though. They will have to keep their foot on the pedal.

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the venue for the ongoing second qualifier, is known for its sporting surface. In the Indian Premier League 2023, the average first-innings score at the world’s largest cricket stadium rose to an impressive 187, showcasing the batters’ skill in taking full advantage of the conducive conditions. The winner of the match tonight will face Chennai Super Kings in the final at the same venue on Sunday.

Since winning the IPL 2022 final in what was their inaugural season as a franchise, the Titans have played seven league games this season at the Narendra Modi Stadium, winning five and losing on three occasions. They conceded two games while defending totals against Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, besides a five-run defeat against Delhi Capitals.
