Grant Bradburn appointed head coach of Pakistan men’s team

Grant Bradburn has been appointed as the head coach of the Pakistan men’s team for the next two years, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Saturday, May 13. Bradburn, the former New Zealand cricketer, recently served as the head coach on a consultancy basis in the series against the Kiwis.

During Bradburn’s stint as the head coach, Pakistan shared the T20I series 2-2 and defeated New Zealand by an emphatic 4-1 margin in the ODIs. The Babar Azam led side also claimed the throne, albeit briefly, in the ODI rankings during this period.

Bradburn was also the fielding coach of Pakistan from 2018 to 2020 before moving to the National Cricket Academy to oversee the development of the coaching group. He has also previously worked as the head coach of the Scotland team.

The PCB also announced that Andrew Puttick, the former South Africa cricketer, has signed a two-year contract as the batting coach of the men’s team. Strength and conditioning coach Drikus Saaiman and physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon will continue in their roles, PCB’s media release added.
