Chris Jordan replaces injured Jofra Archer at Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have signed a deal with England quick Chris Jordan for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2023. Jordan has been drafted in as an injury replacement for Jofra Archer, who will fly back to England where his rehabilitation shall be closely monitored by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Mumbai Indians had confirmed on April 29 that Archer visited Belgium for a “minor surgery”.

Jordan, who turned up for Chennai Super Kings last year, is set to represent his fifth IPL franchise. Apart from CSK, Jordan has represented Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The right-arm pacer has 27 wickets in 28 IPL games so far.

Hailed as a death-bowling specialist, Jordan has been picked up for INR 2 Crores and is expected to rectify the problems in that area for the five-time champions in the ongoing season. Rohit Sharma and his troops are already missing the services of spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.
