Ayush Badoni pulls Deepak Chahar for a maximum

Having cleaned up Manan Vohra early on, Mahesh Theekshana conceded 15 runs in the 17th over and then Chahar, looking off-color on his comeback, gave away 20 in the 19th over. These were crucial runs fetched by Lucknow Super Giants before the drizzle got heavier. Ayush Badoni has scored a well-made fifty off 30 balls on this pitch which hasn’t been the easiest to bat on.

The picture didn’t look rosy at all a few overs ago. At the halfway stage, LSG were in a spot of bother at 44/5. Jadeja had joined the party by unfurling a cracker to hit the top of off to get rid of Marcus Stoinis and Moeen Ali added another wicket to his kitty. It looked like they were batting on a minefield. Plenty of work needed to be done, and Badoni has certainly spared the franchise some blushes. However, it is apparent that KL Rahul’s absence is hurting LSG as his tendency to play percentage cricket may have come handy on such a tricky surface.
