The Royal London One Day Cup has been somewhat swept under the rug by the ECB amidst the money-fuelled fireworks of the Hundred. Going on at the exact same time as the new competition, the One Day Cup has lost some of the world-class cricketers who have competed in the past, and many would argue that England have subsequently conceded one of the assets that brought about their white-ball success.
But as Dan Moriarty wildly celebrated the wicket of Eddie Byrom, it seemed that none of the competitive edge had been lost amongst the players. Crowds have also remained relatively healthy, as County Cricket’s loyal supporters flock to put an arm around the ailing institution.
😱 Moriarty’s celebrations are always passionate.
