Mohammad Siraj has had the wood over swashbuckling Lucknow Super Giants opener Kyle Mayers in Indian Premier League 2023. The Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer has dismissed Mayers for a duck twice in the tournament, first at the Chinnaswamy and then in Lucknow.
Mayers trumpeted his arrival in the league with a magnificent knock of 73 against Delhi Capitals on April 1. The West Indian carried on in the same vein, scoring a fifty in the next match. However, Siraj consigned Mayers to his first IPL duck in LSG’s pulsating one-wicket win over RCB on April 10. An encore took place on May 1 as Siraj sent Mayers packing for a two-ball duck.
Siraj is in the middle of a prolific season. He is in the top five as far as top wicket-takers are concerned in the ongoing IPL 2023. He has picked up at least one wicket in each game for RCB so far with his penetrative pace.
