Dhruv Jurel provided the hosts the finishing kick with a spectacular 34 before Adam Zampa and R Ashwin chipped in with two wickets each as Chennai Super Kings came a cropper in the chase.
Royals needed this win desperately after losing two matches in a row. They will now carry the newfound confidence to Mumbai when they lock horns with the struggling outfit on Sunday. Chennai Super Kings will host Punjab Kings in their own den, a bout they will fancy winning.
