Glenn Maxwell’s 76 off 36 and Faf du Plessis’ 62 off 33 went in vain as Chennai Super Kings prevailed in a high-scoring affair at the Chinnaswamy stadium to consign Royal Challengers Bangalore to their third defeat of the season. CSK were thrust to their third-best IPL total by Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube before the bowlers tilted the game in Chennai’s favour at the death.
There have been a few moments in the last couple of games in IPL 2023 that deserve a special mention. Ajinkya Rahane intercepted a six in spectacular fashion to save precious runs for his side. He timed the jump to perfection to parry the ball back into play.
A heated moment transpired during the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians as Nitish Rana couldn’t suppress his emotions after Hritik Shokeen gave the KKR captain a send-off upon claiming his wicket. Rana didn’t mince his words as Suryakumar Yadav tried to pacify his opposite number.
