Delhi Capitals batter Prithvi Shaw has endured a poor run of form in the ongoing edition of the IPL, and the opener’s woes continued on Saturday, against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Shaw was dismissed for a duck in the first over of Delhi Capitals’ innings, with a brilliant piece of fielding from Anuj Rawat spelling his doom.
Shaw had stabbed a Mohammed Siraj delivery to the right of cover with ordinary timing and went for a single straightaway but Rawat moved swiftly to his right, pulled off a dive, got hold of the ball and threw it off-balance to bring the stumps down at the non striker’s end. Shaw was well behind his crease as the zing bails lit up.
After another failure in IPL 2023, Shaw’s woeful run this season reads 12, 7, 0 and 15. Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav spun a web in the middle overs as Royal Challengers Bangalore were restricted to 174 for six at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
