Shubman Gill scythes Kagiso Rabada for a maximum

Shubman Gill managed to get the better of Punjab Kings’ pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada but the South African speedster bagged his 100th IPL wicket by dismissing Wriddhiman Saha against Gujarat Titans at the IS Bindra Stadium on Thursday, becoming the quickest bowler to the mark. Rabada trumped Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga, who took 70 games to reach three figures.

Rabada missed the first couple of clashes in IPL 2023 due to national duty and made his first appearance of the season on Thursday. The 27-year-old claimed the Purple Cap in 2020 while playing for Delhi Capitals. He returned a tally of 30 wickets in 17 matches that season. The South African was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs. 9.25 crore at the IPL 2022 auction after continuing his good form to snare 23 wickets in 13 matches last year.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the fastest Indian to scalp 100 wickets in the IPL, is the third fastest to accomplish the feat overall.
