Shikhar Dhawan came up with an undefeated 99 in a losing cause as PBKS suffer their first loss of IPL 2023. Sunrisers Hyderabad tasted defeat in the first two matches of their IPL 2023 campaign but the franchise has finally managed to open its account as Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram got their team home with 17 balls to spare in a 144-run chase.
PBKS were tottering at 78/8 but Dhawan took it upon himself to fight right until the end. He could have scored a hundred but Natarajan bowled a brilliant last over to deny him the milestone. However, Dhawan hit the final ball for a six to finish one short of the magical figure.
England wunderkind Harry Brook was the cynosure of all eyes as hew was sent to open by SRH. While he did fetch a couple of boundaries, he didn’t make use of the opportunity and was bowled by a well-disguised knuckle ball from Arshdeep Singh.
A solid start with the ball for @SunRisers! 👏 👏
A wicket each for @BhuviOfficial & Marco Jansen! 👌 👌#PBKS lose Prabhsimran Singh and Matthew Short.
