Krunal Pandya removes Aiden Markram for nought

Krunal Pandya’s all-round brilliance (3 for 18 & 34 off 23) helped Lucknow Super Giants down SunRisers Hyderabad by five wickets and notch up their second consecutive win at their home ground. SRH languish at the bottom of the points table due to the back-to-back losses in Indian Premier League 2023.

Walking out to bat in the seventh over of the manageable chase, Krunal got going with a cover drive off Aiden Markram before hoisting Adil Rashid for a six.

The introduction of the left-arm spinner in the third over of the innings turned things around for LSG, whose pacers had given away runs with the new ball. His first scalp of the night was Mayank Agarwal, who mistimed a chip to cover. Anmolpreet Singh was looking in good touch before Krunal trapped him on the back leg with an arm ball whereas Markram, in his first game as SRH skipper, was cleaned up by a delivery that straightened a shade.
