Moeen Ali bags a wicket in each of his four overs

Kyle Mayers was initially a thorn in CSK’s side as they set out to defend a steep 218 with the West Indian cracking a 22-ball fifty. However, the game turned on its head as soon as spin was brought on, with Moeen Ali bowling an inspired spell, and Santner doing a brilliant job as well. That was just typical CSK in action at their fortress, with MS Dhoni pulling the right strings in the field after he delivered a sensational cameo that got the spectators jumping in their seats.

LSG were 73/0 after the first 5 overs, but they had collapsed to 136/5 after 14, with Moeen picking up a wicket in each of his four overs. This venue has a knack for assisting spin and Dhoni once again played his cards right, falling back on his tweakers to bring CSK back into the contest. The turnaround was made all the more sweeter by Tushar Deshpande who overcame a false start to strike at the death, getting rid of big fish Nicholas Pooran to put the final nail in LSG’s coffin.
