Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and asked Rajasthan Royals to bat in the 4th match of the Indian Premier League 2023. The decision, however, was not vindicated as Sanju Samson & Co. blazed away in a trice, amassing their highest score ever in the PowerPlay for the loss of a single wicket. Openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal put the SRH bowlers to the sword, scoring 85 in 5.4 overs, before Buttler got out on the fifth ball. He made a sensational 22-ball 54 before walking back to the dugout.
Rajasthan Royalsβ pacer Trent Boult jolted Sunrisers Hyderabad in the chase with a red-hot first over, taking two wickets without conceding a run. Boult cleaned up Abhishek Sharma with a banana outswinger before getting Rahul Tripathi caught at slip on the penultimate ball of the over. Equal credit for that dismissal goes to Jason Holder as he moved like a gazelle to take a brilliant catch to his left.
