Shadab Khan gets hit wicket after breezy knock

Afghanistan were unable to whitewash Pakistan but they will be chuffed to bits with their first ever T20I series win against their better-placed neighbours. Rashid Khan collects the trophy as the Afghainstan players pose for the shutterbugs along with their family members. Pakistan looked rusty in the first two games and conceded an unassailable lead, but they were right on the money in the dead rubber. Their batters posted a massive total, and the bowlers turned up as they defended it without fuss. Shadab Khan was adjudged the player of the match for his all-round contribution.

Ihsanullah was mighty impressive and he has got a really bright future for Pakistan, from the looks of it. Taking about future prospects, Sediquallah Atal also looked like one to watch out for when he pulled to fetch a flat six. However, the youngster was trapped plumb by Mohammad Wasim Jr. shortly thereafter.

Saim Ayub gave the hosts a fine start with his knock of 49 and laid the foundation, while, Abdullah Shafique, Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan chipped in with handy cameos to lift Pakistan to 182/7, a target that proved well beyond Afghanistan’s reach. In fact, from 71/3 they collapsed to 73/7 to render the result a foregone conclusion.
