Rahmanullah Gurbaz bowled by a nippy full toss

Pakistan salavged a bit of pride by taking the honours in the immaterial third T20I against Afghanistan by 66 runs, having conceded the series after losing the first two matches by six and seven wickets respectively. Shadab Khan became the first Pakistan bowler to reach the three figure milestone yesterday in Sharjah, and only the seventh from any nation, as he took bagged three scalps in the dead rubber.

Pakistan’s new-look side posted a formidable 182-7 in 20 overs before restricting Afghanistan to a lowly 116 in 18.4 overs. Opener Saim Ayub led an improved batting show after Pakistan posted below-par scores of 92-9 and 130-6 in the first two matches.

Afghanistan may have lost the ultimate clash to miss out on a clean sweep, but they will be really pleased with their first ever T20I series win against their much fancied neighbours. Rashid Khan collected the trophy as the Afghainstan players posed for the shutterbugs along with their family members. Pakistan looked rusty in the first two games and conceded an unassailable lead, but they were right on the money yesterday.
