Shubman Gill drives Mitchell Starc beautifully on the up

India lost wickets at regular intervals to concede the series decider against Australia by 21 runs and with it the three-match ODI assignment 2-1. Australia staged a fine comeback after putting up a par score of 269 on the board. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave India a rollicking start, with the youngster playing some mesmerizing shots in particular, but both failed to convert their thirties into something of note.

After a six over deep mid-wicket in the third over of the innings, Gill creamed the in-form Mitchell Starc for a couple of delectable boundaries in the fifth over of the innings. He first played a trademark short-arm jab towards mid-on and then drove on the rise through covers. The second shot, especially, left many in awe, including captain Rohit and his predecessor Kohli.
