Bangladesh win the series 2-0 against Ireland, who have a lot of wounds to lick as the cricketing caravan heads to the T20I leg which starts on 27th March.
Bangladesh have registered their first-ever 10-wicket win in ODIs. Nothing went right for Ireland, not only today, but also during the whole series. A sure whitewash was averted due to rain’s presence in the 2nd ODI. Today was a no-contest. On a spicy pitch which produced seam and swing, the Bangladesh seamers took all 10 wickets as Ireland raised the white handkerchief. They did not have the technical ability to counter those conditions and the high-class bowling of Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain.
The chase was then completed with ease by the Asian Tigers. Boundaries came all guns blazing in the powerplay and the game seemed done and dusted after the first couple of overs. Ireland will take some effort to recover from this shellacking. Bangladesh on the other hand are just a very good ODI side and at home they are one of the best in the world currently. Tamim and Co. pocket another series win as they build up nicely to the ICC Cricket World Cup in India later in the year.
