Watch Heinrich Klaasen smash a 54-ball century

A swashbuckling 54-ball hundred from Heinrich Klaasen ushered South Africa to an emphatic four-wicket win in the third and final ODI against West Indies at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom on Tuesday, March 21. The result meant that the three-match series ended in a deadlock at 1-1.

Chasing a below-par target on what was a decent batting surface, South Africa were jolted early by Alzarri Joseph’s double whammy but the hosts kept playing positive cricket, which meant that the required run rate was under control at all times. Wickets, though, soon became an issue as the score read 87/4 in the 13th over to give the West Indies a fillip.

That joy, however, wasn short-lived for the Windies as Klaasen went after the bowling right from the word go. Everyone including the on-song Joseph bore the brunt of the assault with the pacer even getting into a verbal duel with Klaasen. Such was the magnitude of the thumping that West Indies barely got any benefit of removing David Miller cheaply.
